IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - The Candle

I went to church today and lite a candle on behalf of Sicily and her Family and Friends.....May Your Light Continue To Shine Thru The Loved Ones You Left Behind.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - The Sun

Whenever I had the opportunity to see Sicily - She just had this light about her. The SUN was the closest definition I could come up with to describe her personality.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - Butterfly Wishes

Butterfly Wishes

Yesterday a butterfly

Came floating gently through the sky.

He soared up through the atmosphere

Then drifted close enough to hear.

I said, "I'd love to fly with you

And sail around the way you do.

It looks like it would be such fun

To fly up toward the summer sun.

But I have not your graceful charm.

I haven't wings, just these two arms.

I've been designed to walk around.

My human feet must touch the ground.

Then magically he spoke to me

and told me what his wish would be.

He said, "What I'd love most to do

Is walk upon God's Earth with you,

To squish it's mud between my toes

Or touch my finger to my nose.

I'd love just once to walk around

With human feet to touch the ground,

But I have not two legs that swing,

I haven't arms, just these two wings."

And so we went our separate ways

In wonder and surprise.

For we'd both seen God's precious gifts

Through someone else's eyes.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - There Is No Darkness

Sicily I just learned today that You were gone, You had passed away.
I cried and I cried asking God Why? I did not have a chance to say goodbye.
Why such a light so bright, with so much more to give,
was no longer allowed to shine - no longer allowed to live.
My friends tried to console me, the grief was more than I could bear,
Your departure was far to soon, Like the black diamond You were so rare.
But God spoke softly to me and said, "It will be alright, wth death there is no darkness, With HIM there is Eternal Life."

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - And Death Shall Have No Dominion

Though Sicily is gone, it is not goodbye.

Death has not won, it is only a matter of time.

".....Though lovers be lost love shall not;And death shall have no dominion.-

Sometimes, tears say all that can be said,

and understanding comes only with time.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - Sunshine

I met Sicily for the first time in September, 2002 at MAC Cumberland Mall. And although we would only see each other a few times a year, we became friends. She was always professional, but yet personable. Some people can touch your lives for a moment and it is changed forever. Sicily, you were a light in this world. Thanks for shining on me.

Sunshine
by Maria Byrne

Beams of light beat down,

Set your heart racing,

Warm circles of yellow sunshine,

Disappear into the deep blue skies,

And looks on to its most beautiful self,

Though a forever moving mirror,

Reflecting importance and power,

Yet it looks so delicate,Fragile even,

Because by then it's already fading,

Dying in the summer evening,

Bringing darkness,Leaving me,

Leaving me to miss it,

I know that one day it will return,

Like in the memories I have,

Like in Love.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY - Footsteps in the Sand

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints,
so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
my child, is when I carried you.”
